I've been looking at several chicken coops over the past few years and I've concluded that there is no craftsmanship better than your own.
So, there are a few ways to go with that concept:
1. Buy plans and build your own coop
2. Design and build your own coop
3. Buy a chicken coop or chicken coop kit and maintain it
I know it's a lot of work to build a chicken coop and it's only for people that like to build. However, we find that many people that like to raise chickens like to do things themselves!
Anyway, my main point here is that it's important to maintain your coops if you want them to last... seal and/or paint every year. Do you have to paint every year? Probably not... but you do need to inspect and touch up. These chicken coops can be pretty expensive... so make sure you make them last!
