The winters here a long and cold, my hens dont lay during the winter, what sort of feed skould they be getting. They are allowed pasture when weather permits.Thank You, Lee

Thank you for your question Lee. In the winter time, your hens use many of their calories to stay warm. As far as what to feed them in the winter time, we recommend supplementing their layer feed diet with scratch or cracked corn. Alternatives to layer feeds are winter mash and some people use table scraps.
